FAQs

Effect of NOC Code on CRS Score?

Your NOC score affects your CRS Calculator score in two ways:
To secure the CRS points for job experience, you should have the required work history in the NOC skill level.
You can receive some extra CRS points depending upon the NOC level of your job offer. For example, you can obtain 200 extra CRS points for a NOC 0-level job.

Why is the CRS score increasing?

By using the CRS score calculator, Express Entry ranks the profiles of candidates in the Express Entry pool. Profiles of immigrants with high-demanding skills and higher Job Experience are at higher rank. IRCC mainly invites those profiles to Express Entry with higher Canada PR points to target only those immigrants with high skill sets, this causes an increase in the CRS Calculator score cut-off.

But as these profiles are limited in numbers, thus to fulfil the targets of admission for new immigrants, the Express Entry points for Canada PR Visa remain decreased.

If my CRS score is below 400 points?

If your CRS score is less than 400 points, don’t worry. There are other programs than the Express Entry program. There is a PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) that can give you another pathway for immigration to a Canada PR Visa if you have low Canada PR points.

In many PNP programs, a low CRS Calculator score is required to be eligible, like SINP – Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program, etc. Also, the AIPP – Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program gives another pathway for immigration in Canada PR Visa with a Comprehensive Ranking System score of less than 400 points.
